Time For A Change!

Over the summer my family went house hunting.  We needed a new house very badly!  We kept putting in bids on houses we liked and we kept getting denied!  Finally towards the end we got picked for three different houses.  We went back to take a look at the houses we qualified for and started eliminating.  We got down to two houses.  Me and my sister wanted a house that wasn't too far from Deer Valley so atleast I can finish my high school career as a Skyhawk.  The two houses we were looking at were one by Mountain Ridge and one by Greenway High School.  It was difficult to decide which one we wanted because they were both beautiful!  Finally we chose the house near Greenway, (and walking distance to my BESTFRIEND'S HOUSE!!).  It took them about 3 MONTHS to get all the paperwork done and finally, Yesterday, we got the key to the house!! I can't wait to finally have my own room!!!

Life With No Mouse

I feel like today is already starting off with too many delays!  I came into Graphic Design and my computer wouldn't turn on.  I felt like an idiot having to have somebody turn on my computer for me, but I had no choice!  Then my mouse was frozen so I restarted my computer.  When I booted it back up it was STILL frozen!  I am working on my computer with no mouse right now!  I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to be able to do the photoshop tools without a mouse!:O

LA$ VEGA$

I am SUPER excited for thursday because my family is leaving for Nevada for a softball showcase.  We have been preparing for this for a long time!!  In this showcase we play other teams and are watched by the college coaches.  Also, a couple people from my team are signed up for an individual camp which means we get put on different teams and the college coaches get to coach us.  My plan for this is to be the most outgoing and hard working player on the team.  I must cheer on my teammates, if though I don't know who they are, and give 110%.  I'm really hoping this will be the tournament I get scouted in and hopefully D-1 colleges will be watching me!!

I Worked Hard To Get Where I Am!

Ever since 3rd grade, (when we actually started to get real grades), getting good grades has been a priority for me.  in 3rd grade they tested me for Sage, an honors program, for reading and math. I qualified for the math sage and she told me I wasn't that far from qualifing for the reading but I didn't getting into reading sage.  That was alright with me, afterall I still made it into the math sage.  So, since 4th grade I've been in honors math, which has really payed off already!  I mean, I'm a junior and whie many of my other classmates still have to take another year of math I don't and can get a half day, even though I'm taking another year of math... Oh well!:)  Also as soon as I got into high school I signed up for the honors classes; freshman year-honors biology, honors LA, Geometry honors, sophomore year- honors chemistry, honors world history, honors LA, and Alg 3-4 honors, junior year- AP US history, college spanish, college LA, college pre-cal.  I've had my plate full since I started but do you want to know where it got me?... TOP 10% OF MY CLASS THATS WHERE!!  And I've been inducted into the honor societies at DV.  I'm glad I didn't ease up on myself or quit when it got hard, instead I pushed through to succeed!

The X-Factor

The X-Factor is a new singing show that Me, my sister, and my mom have been HOOKED to!  The judges include Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and LA Reid.  It has been on for awhile and we've been watching from the beginning.  Last night was a night of pure confusion!  Each judge has a categorie: over 30's, girls, boys, and groups.  In these categories are either 8 people or 8 groups.  Last night each judge had to cut their group from 8 to 4.  As we were watching there were people we thought should have made it and didn't and people we thought for sure would have gone home and made it!  Then it was down to my favorite girl and my mom's favorite girl.  Only one of them was going to make it but they definitely both deserved it!  We waited and waited to hear the resu;ts and my girl made it, I was happy but at the same time sad because the other girl deserved just as much as my girl did!  Then the host said, "and that is the judges final four,... or is it?"  Right then I was sure they were going to put my mom's girl through too.  Simon flew out to Florida to personaly apologize for what he said was "a huge mistake", and I agreed, and said that all the judges got together and decided that she didn't deserve to go home and that she would be back on the show.  She was awestruck and couldn't speak.  But that didn't stop her dad from talking for her!  He right away said "she'll do it!"  The family was so exstatic!  CONGRATULATIONS MELANIE AMARO!

Pen Pal from New Zealand!!!!

My friend, over the summer, signed up for a penpal thing in New Zealand.  I thought it was a super cool way to meet someone new and especially way over there!  I've always wanted to marry someone from Australia and she's always wanted to marry someone from New Zealand so she was already one step ahead getting a pen pal out there!  He even sent her things made in New Zealand for her birthday!  I'm very excited because she said the next time she skypes him I can meet him!  I hope it's soon because he seems really nice and I really want to hear his accent!!! I LOVE FOREIGN ACCENTS!!

Footloose!

On Saturday, me, my sister, my best friend, and her mom went to the movies to see Footloose.  I didn't know what to expect, all I could picture when I thought of the movie was the old version.  That one was really good so I was really excited to see this one.  From the moment it started to the end I was hooked!  It was hilarious, sad, cute, and just plain terrific!

Graphic Design Principles

1.balance-arrangement of objects in a design according to their visual weight or appearance within the design.
2.symmetrical-the equal balance of images along the vertical and horizontal axis of the design.
3.asymmetrical-the unequal balance of images around the central axis of the design.
4.rhythm-repitition of elements in a design that can either create pattern and texture or movement.
5.proportion-comparison of dimensions or distribution of forms
6.dominance-variety of degrees of emphasis in a design that can choose the visual weight, create space and perspective, and choose where the eye looks first.
7.unity-the relationship of the individual elements that make the design come together.
8.closure-the idea that the human brain assumes that there is something missing and fills it in themselves.
9.continuous-the idea that once you look in a certain direction you will continue to look in that direction until something else catches your eye.
10.contrast-a problem that exsists in a design between the visual elements.
11.positive and negative space-the closeness of the figure and ground in a design.
12.rule of thirds-the idea that the most interesting design is one where the main object is off centered.
13.visual center-the area slightly above and to the left of the center that is the natural point of view for people.
14.color-the eyes response to wavelengths and radiation in the visible spectrum.
15.similarity-the grouping of objects of a similar size, shape, and color.
16.proximity-the closeness of the similar objects.
17.alignment-the way the objects group.
18.typography- the work of setting and arranging types.
19.point-a single mark that has neither a position or extension.
20.line-a natural extension characterized by length and direction.

Success

My definition of success is to excel in something.  Also, probably the most typical definition, to have alot of money.  Many people think that in order to be successful you have to make alot of money.  I have to agree with that just a little because thats pretty much today's definition.

Favorite Subject!

My all time favorite subject would be lunch and gym, but since those two probably don't count, I think my favorite subject is math.  Math comes so easy to me, (for some odd reason).  My parents always tell me to look for a job that involves math since I'm good at it but I don't think I want to have to take another four years of math in college.  I'm in precal right now as a junior which means I don't have to take another math next year.  Now I;m not sure if I should or not cause I'm not really sure what I want to be or do in college.  For now, math is my favorite subject!

I Got Your Back Sis!

So, it wasn't until this last weekedn that I realized how much I loved my sister!  We were playing in a college showcase and everyone was out there to impress the coaches and scouts.  My sister was stealing second base, ( and by the way, she's really fast!), and the secondbaseman was covering the base.  My sister slid into second feet first and the girl tagged her on the helmet.  First of all it was obvious she was safe if the girl tagged her helmet, but the girl tagged my sister so hard her helmet and glasses went flying off.  But it gets worse...  My sister came in the dugout crying and we knew she wasn't crying because she got out.  She said her leg hurt and we looked at it and there were about three holes made in her socks.  We rolled her sock down and she had a huge gash on her leg.  The girl had cleated her!  I was so fumed that I started crying and did not take my eyes off the second baseman once!  I wanted so badly to go out there and tell her to apologize to my sister.  Before that whole incident the shortstop decided to give my sister a shove.  I let this slide cause its part of the game but when the cleating and helmet knock off, I went crazy.  If anyone tries to mess with my sister they better be ready to get it from me.  I will always have my sisters back! <3

"Occupy Wall Street"

This group, known as the Occupy Wall Street, is just looking for a change.  They are protesting in Wall Street to get their point across.  They want to know that in the next few years they dont have to worry whether they can pay thir bills or will be able to support their families.  They want to know that they will be secure in the future.  I think, as long as they aren't hurting anyone, let them protest.  I know some are getting violent, then the police can step forward and punish the ones acting up.  They are just excersizing their right of free speech and they should be allowed to do so.

Ted Talk 2

Dave Eggers gave the talk. The subject was about the tutoring places for youn writers. They would come in and get one-on-one attention from tutors that would help them improve. Most of these tutoring places were built behind crazy stores like The Pirate Supply Store, The Superhero Supply Store, The Time Travelers Supply store, etc. I learned that many tutors around the U.S. are trying to mget involved in kids writtings at school and also they are publishing them in books and such. It made me want to help them.

Gaurdian Angel

If I were to die tomorrow, I wouldn't have much of a Legacy left behind.  I hope that with the little time I had on earth it would leave people nothing but good thoughts about me.  When people think of me, I want them to remember me as always smiling, laughing, and having fun no matter what.  I would want them to remember how much I loved them and how they know I will always be there for them like I was when I was alive.  I'll be there Gaurdian Angel!

The Micheal Jackson Experience!

When I came home Monday, I got the biggest surprise... My dad had bought the kinect for the playstation and a bunch of games to go with it!  One of the games he bought was the Micheal Jackson Experience.  I love Micheal Jackson's music and have been wanting to play that game since I saw it advertised on TV.  So, after all our homework and chores were done yesterday, the whole family gathered around the tv and had a Micheal Jackson night!  It was honestly the funnest game I've ever played!  It didn't only have dancing but you could also plug in a microphone and sing along, (which we did!). I'm so excited for people to come over and have a Micheal Jackson party!! :D

Ted Talk 3

Who?- Aimee Mullins did the talk. " Aimee Mullins on running"
What about?- She was talking about her life as an amputee athlete.  She was able to run and compete in the physical disabilities olympics.  She won many of her races and made a world record.
What did you Learn?- I learned that there is a physical disabilities olympics and it doesn't matter what kind of disability you have, if you work hard you can do anything.  Aimee had two prostetic legs and made records as an amputee.

Smh at smhers!

Smh, fwb, nmh, jk, btw, lol, and so many more lazy ways to say things!  It really irritates me how people over use acronyms.  Have people become that lazy that it takes them too long to write by the way or just kidding that instead they have to put btw or jk.  My all time "favorite" is smh.  Really?!  Smh and nmh are the dumbest acronyms!  Do you really feel it is that important to tell people your shaking your head.  You might as well say cuc, cutting up carrots.  People, I'm sure, don't really care that your shaking your head while your posting!

There's No Time Like Christmas Time!

There really is no time like Christmas!  You can feel everyone around you getting cheerier and everyone gets into the holiday spirit!  Christmas brings everyone together, not just families but communities too!  I'm particularly excited for this Christmas because we will be going to Disneyland during the Christmas season!  I've always wanted to see the happiest place on earth turn into the happiest, cheeriest place on earth.
